Day 3, Boca to Tequesta (and beyond)

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 8:21 PM Comments comments (172)
The team was blessed again with another day of near perfect weather, the Run team took advantage and completed some extra miles. Jim and Chuck carried us through at the end by climbing the hills leading into Hobe Sound. We said a temporary goodbye to Brandon who left us to get back to school (Mom would only allow Brandon to have 1 "sick" day). Again, only one runner was lost today, Jim was "missing" for only a short time but he also learned a valuable lesson not to follow Brad's directions when running through Palm Beach. We also made a big improvement this year by not getting the van stuck in the sand.

Day 2, North Miami to Boca Raton

The Run today was again inspirational to all that participated. The weather was near perfect, cool and a nice tail wind. The Team was greeted by Chris and a big party, Saint Vincent Ferrer was concluding their festival so good food, fun and fellowship were all in abundance. The evening was made even more perfecter as we were blessed with a stay at the Seminary in Boca. Many thanks to all those who made the stay so enjoyable.

Day 1, Homestead to North Miami

The Run had another great send off from Sacred Heart Church in Homestead. Father McCraner and Father Coiffee provided the inspiration at Mass. The Knights, the Run Team Supporters (along with Steve Bateman (Mayor of Homestead)) provided support and accompanied the runners for the first couple of miles up to US1. Father Coiffee joined the runners again this year and completed his mileage before pressing activities took him away. The day was eventful as the team navigated through traffic from Homestead to North Miami via Cutler Ridge, Kendall, South Miami, Downtown Miami (go Heat) and on to North Miami. Only one runner was "misplaced" for a short period of time, but Jodi got back on track before actually getting on I-95 and learned not to take directions from Brad anymore. The day ended with the old and tired going off to the hotel rooms for an early night while the energetic group (Ed and Chuck) went to Kevin's for dinner. The Dinner was again 'over the top delicious' (thanks to all, but especially to Chef Carlos for his hard work and awesome cuisine). Kevin and the guys in North Miami out did themselves again and the Run team is grateful.
